Nick Nerangis Sr., a partner in the local franchise group N/L Entertainment LLC, hung the theater's first movie poster, "Where the Wild Things Are," during a brief ceremony outside the 38,000-square-foot facility while employees prepared for a full day of showings.

This year, the favorite goblin holiday falls on a Saturday and is almost certain to be the official Trick or Treat Night in most communities.
Much has been written over the last several years about safety issues for our young folks. I’m sure the parents and most of the kids know these safety rules by heart, but please review them with the youngest ones even though they will certainly be chaperoned.

Tuesday, March 18, 2008 is Tornado Preparedness Day. Some may remember Hurricane Ivan in 2004 spawning numerous tornadoes in the country and one touched down in Darkesville. The Jefferson County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is asking citizens to review their family and pet disaster plans and check or make their disaster supply kits.
