2012 Board of Directors

The 2012 Annual membership meeting was held on Sunday 05/06/2012 at 2pm. 14 members and their families were in attendance, just 4 votes short of the required quorum to conduct business and elect the five open Board of Director positions. The members present voted not to adjourn the meering but to review and discuss the agenda items, and the meeting ended at 4:20pm.

The RVA By-Laws and WV State code 36b requires that River View Association have the following officers; President, Treasurer, and Secretary

If the office of any director or directors becomes vacant by reason of death, resignation, retirement, disqualify, from office, absence from the country for an entire calendar quarter, or otherwise, a majority of the remaining directors, though less than a quorum, shall choose a successor or successors, who shall hold office for the unexpired term in respect to which such vacancy occurred.

On Wednesday May 8 2012 Directors Neal Nilsen, Dave Holmes, Virginia Holmes, and Craig Weaver appointed Tina Creller, Randy Creller and Ryan Arnold as Directors to the RVA Board.


On Wednesday May 8 2012 Directors Neal Nilsen, Dave Holmes, Virginia Holmes, and Craig Weaver elected the Following Officers:
Tina Creller as Secretary
Randy Creller as Director of Parks
Ryan Arnold as Director of Roads

Any RVA member can request that a second meeting be held to conduct Association business and elect Directors as described in the Association By-Laws:

River View Association Tax Exoneration

I am pleased to announce that the effort expended over the past three years to insure that the Resident's of River View Park are taxed correctly as provided in West Virginia State Code 36b paid off today.

The County Assessor, represented by the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney's office, requested that River View Association be granted exoneration of property tax on the common area property for tax years 2009, 2010, 2011. All Jefferson County Commissioners voted in favor to grant the exoneration.

This decision follows shortly after Judge Sanders of the Twenty-Third Judicial Circuit Court ruled in favor of River View Association, in a law suit filed by the Association against the WV State Tax Commissioner and the Jefferson County Assessor.

The Jefferson County Assessor Angie Banks has also agreeded that beginning with tax year 2012 all eligable common area property owned by HOA's in Jefferson County will not be taxed as they have in the past.

The tax money saved each year will be used for it's intended purpose, to maintain the common area property of the Community

 

 

2012 Annual Assessments

This years annual assessments to maintain the River View Park common area property were mailed on March 07, 2012.
Your prompt payment of the $45 per lot fee benefits you and the community in several ways.

  • Maintain the 17 private roads in the Community
  • Maintain the 110 box mail facility in the Subdivision
  • Keep roadways free of litter and trash
  • Promote the safety and security of the Community
  • Promote the fire safety of the Community
  • Promote the environmental obligations of the Community
  • Provide management of the Community
  • Provide an active voice in County and State Goverment to benefit the needs of the Community

River View Association Board Of Directors Nomination Form Is Available

River View Association, Inc. is currently seeking five (5) qualified individuals with a desire to take a leadership role within the Home Owners Association.

 

Nominees must be an RVA Member in good standing, be of strong moral character, and have no felony convictions. All nominations will be considered and placed on the ballot for community consideration. Term of office is currently three years. The qualified nominees, when elected, will be asked to spend approximately four (4) hours or more of volunteer time per quarter. The election will be held May 6, 2012, at the Annual Membership Meeting.

 

Serving as a director for your Homeowners Association can be a very rewarding experience. Should you wish to become a nominee for the Board of Directors, please fill out the form mailed to you on March 7, 2012 with a brief description of your qualifications and goals for the community and:
